Sussex & Studholm Agricultural Society #21 is the oldest continually operated agricultural society in the world, established in 1841. Our member owned business offers agriculture and hardware products.
In the spring of 1841, a group of farmers met to discuss ways to improve farming and encourage agricultural developments in their community. From this meeting, Sussex & Studholm Agricultural Society #21 was born with the goal “to encourage agricultural development through innovative farming techniques.”
Today the Sussex Co-op, as it is commonly known, continues to prosper. Sussex & Studholm Agricultural Society #21 is a member of the Co-op Atlantic network of co-operatives.

At our farm store, you can find feed, seed, work wear, garden supplies, plus many agricultural supplies and implements.

Sussex & Studholm Agricultural Society #21 is a member-owned business; however, both of these stores offer all a chance to buy, but membership does have its advantages.
Price of Membership
The cost is $20/year plus HST and expires at the end of October every year. Membership can be renewed at our country store.
Why Do We Pay Yearly for Sussex & Studholm Agricultural Society #21?
Your agricultural society predates the co-operative movement (1855). Sussex was established in 1841 and the original by-laws states an annual membership is to be paid on a yearly basis.
